We are happy to inform you that we are going to publish the third edition of A-Padartha on 7^th of October 2010. We thank all of you for making our earlier editions of A-Padartha successful and we hope to make this edition even better and more successful with your active participation.

We are open to all forms of articles like short stories; articles on science, commerce, and arts; poems, describing ones experience or point of view about any topic. We also welcome painting, photograph, and sketches.

The deadline for submission is 24^thof September 2010.

Guidelines for submission:

This is a totally innovative idea where the medium is Bengali and English, other languages are not acceptable.

If you are writing in Bengali, please use Avro Keyboard (http://omicronlab.com/avro-keyboard.html). If you are writing in English please use Microsoft Word.
We can consider scanned copy of articles based on conditions.
For Photography or Painting, snap from digital camera or scanned copy will be accepted, Please do not modify your photographs to create special effects, beyond the minimum brightness, contrast or color level adjustment. If you wish, you can put a logo or signature at one corner.
Send a small intro write-up about yourself.

Copyright of accepted material's belongs to author, A-Padartha will retain permanent publishing rights. Future publications will be decided by A-Padartha and author together. A-Padartha is not responsible for any kind of controversy about copyrights.
A-Padartha will not guarantee that all the materials sent will be published in the magazine, all the liberty is there with the editors.
It will be considered, authors of A-Padartha has understood and agreed all the mentioned rules.

Nomenclature:

‘A-padartha’ is the name of our magazine – This is a Sanskrit word, also used in Bengali.

‘A-padartha’ – Means a precious thing or object.

Apadartha – the word as a whole means someone who is worthless (good for nothing kind of character)

History:

Many of us have a creative side to our personality, but very few take initiatives to materialize them.

So, after passing out of college, we, the classmates of 2007 batch of IIT, Madras, decided to do something more than just solving equations of Physics.

And this thought provoked us to bring to life our own magazine, where we can transform our creativity to something meaningful and reachable to people.

The publication of the articles for the first edition of the magazine was restricted only to the members of the magazine, as it was the first one and we were not sure about the outcome. Since all of us are novice in this field, the work was quite challenging for us. Many were hesitant to submit articles as they were open to public criticism.

The publication of our first magazine was very successful and brought us an overwhelming response of over 400 people from all over the world, who visited our blog. We printed 50 hard copies of the magazine and distributed it among friends in Kolkata, India.

After the successful publication of our magazine we went a step further to make the publication biannual. The second edition of the magazine proved to be a grand success inviting almost 900 individual visitors for the magazine. We got contributions in the form of stories, poems, pictures, paintings, sketches, and general articles from people living in India, Japan, USA, and Europe.

After the successful publication of our first two editions of the magazine, we are now looking forward for the third edition, which we are planning to publish in October 2010.

Information for Contributors:

We are open to all forms of articles like short stories; articles on science, commerce, and arts; poems, or describing ones experience or point of view about any topic. We also welcome painting, photographs, and sketches.

Most of our articles are in Bengali, since the native language of many of us is Bengali. But we do have some good English articles as well and would like to increase the number.

We take an immense pleasure in announcing the publication of the second edition of our online e-magazine A-Padartha on this very day, 9th of May 2010. The day chosen was quite obvious after postponing our publication date twice because of few unavoidable hitches.When the whole world is celebrating the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, we decided to mark this day as another milestone of our passionate voyage called A-Padartha.Higher expectations from our readers after the astounding success of the first edition had raised the benchmark for the next publication. The overwhelming response from the readers and the immense creative contributions towards the second edition have made us excited and ambitious as well.A huge effort has been put to ensure the originality and creativity is retained in our second endeavor. The whole A-Padartha team is highly grateful to its readers community who have shown great interest in our literary expedition and have given their valuable comments and views which has given us a scope for improvement. We are happy to inform you that we are going to publish second publication of A - Padartha on 14^th April 2010(We are very sorry to inform you all that due to some major technical faults we finalized to publish it on 9th May/ 25th Boisakh(as the Nation is celebrating 150th anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore)). Thank you all of you to make our A - Padartha first publication successful. Hope this publication will be more successful with your active participations.

Today is 18th September, 2009. The New York Times was founded on this very day in the year 1851, by a journalist cum politician, Henry Jarvis Raymond .Fortunately on this same day, 2009 we are coming with our first issue of A-Padartha. My dear friends this is a coincidence, so you might be thinking how we are coming on 18th? It is a big story and a rattling journey too. Let me share some of the flavors with you. It was a challenge to amass the ideas and to find the root which can make a stand. Mahalaya, the day when traditional Indians offer food to their ancestors, we thought, let the Holy Sun congratulates a small new lamp on its birthday. As usual we had made few deadlines for various stages of this magazine such as submission of the articles, review. Though we faced a few hiccups at the earlier stages, ultimately our efforts have brought the laurel. Let's don't count the nights and days we spent, rather the moment’s .Finally, now we are having a canvas, where we need you to color it and chip in a shape for our Future. We are The Wonders

That was a normal weekend, after watching a number of movies, hanging many politicians, when we were f*** off with this kind of discussions, we put our hands together to start a new journey, to do something different, to find out again the missing link between the members, the morning blues of “Club House” Room No 161 - Brahmaputra Hostel – IITM. Thanks to Gmail for giving the support to spread our hands through distance and different time zones to put our thoughts in same track, to give a name of our dreams as “A-Padartha” (Non-Physics), An Online Literature Magazine. Yes, we are coming with lots of imaginations, emotions, variations, differentiations’, integrations…… and having enormous expectations from you that you will spend some of your valuable times with us.
